**第一項**  銀行又は長期信用銀行の外国における支店その他の営業所又は代理店の設置又は廃止に関する新銀行法第八条第二項（新長期信用銀行法第十七条において準用する場合を含む。）の規定は、施行日以後における設置又は廃止について適用し、施行日前における設置又は廃止については、なお従前の例による。

The provisions of Article 8, paragraph (2) of the new Banking Act (including as applied mutatis mutandis pursuant to Article 17 of the new Long-Term Credit Bank Act) concerning the establishment or discontinuation of a branch office or other business offices, or an agency in a foreign country by a bank or a long-term credit bank apply to establishment or discontinuation that takes place on or after the effective date, and prior laws continue to govern the establishment or discontinuation that takes place before the effective date.
