### 第一条（施行期日） — (Effective Date)

**第一項**  この法律は、公布の日から起算して一年六月を超えない範囲内において政令で定める日から施行する。ただし、附則第八条の規定は、公布の日から施行する。

This Act comes into effect as of the day specified by Cabinet Order within a period not exceeding one year and six months from the date of promulgation; provided, however, that the provisions of Article 8 of the Supplementary Provisions come into effect as of the date of promulgation.

**第一項**  この法律による改正後の公益通報者保護法（以下「新法」という。）の規定（罰則を除く。）は、この附則に特別の定めがある場合を除き、この法律の施行前にされたこの法律による改正前の公益通報者保護法（附則第六条において「旧法」という。）第二条第一項に規定する公益通報にも適用する。

Except as otherwise specifically provided for in these Supplementary Provisions, the provisions (excluding penal provisions) of the Whistleblower Protection Act as amended by this Act (hereinafter referred to as the "new Act") also apply to whistleblowing prescribed in Article 2, paragraph (1) of the Whistleblower Protection Act before amendment by this Act (referred to as "the Former Act" in Article 6 of the Supplementary Provisions) that was made before the enforcement of this Act.
