**第一項**  第百六条の規定により名誉教授の称号を授与する場合においては、当分の間、旧大学令、旧高等学校令、旧専門学校令又は旧教員養成諸学校官制の規定による大学、大学予科、高等学校高等科、専門学校及び教員養成諸学校並びに文部科学大臣の指定するこれらの学校に準ずる学校の校長（総長及び学長を含む。）又は教員としての勤務を考慮することができるものとする。

When granting the title of emeritus professor pursuant to the provisions of Article 106, until otherwise provided for by law, the service of the school principals (This includes chancellors and principals) or teachers of universities, university preparatory courses, high school advanced courses, professional training colleges or various teacher training schools under the provisions of the former University Order, former Higher School Order, former Vocational Training School Order, or former Teacher Training System for Schools, or schools equivalent to these schools as specified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, may be considered.
