### 第九条（売却等） — Sale, etc.

  **第一項**  警察署長は、提出を受けた物件が滅失し、若しくは毀損するおそれがあるとき又はその保管に過大な費用若しくは手数を要するときは、政令で定めるところにより、これを売却することができる。ただし、第三十五条各号に掲げる物のいずれかに該当する物件については、この限りでない。

  If the property received in a submission by the chief of a police station is liable to be lost or damaged, or its custody requires excessive expense or effort, the chief may sell it as provided by Cabinet Order; provided, however, that this does not apply to property that falls under any of the things listed in the items of Article 35.

  **第二項**  警察署長は、前項の規定によるほか、提出を受けた物件（埋蔵物及び第三十五条各号に掲げる物のいずれかに該当する物件を除く。）が次の各号に掲げる物のいずれかに該当する場合において、公告の日から二週間以内にその遺失者が判明しないときは、政令で定めるところにより、これを売却することができる。

  In addition to what is provided for in the preceding paragraph, if the property received in a submission by the chief of a police station (excluding buried things and property that falls under any of the things listed in the items of Article 35) falls under any of the things listed in the following items, and the person who lost it is not identified within two weeks from the date of the public notice, the chief may sell it as provided by Cabinet Order:
