      **第一項**  公判前整理手続又は期日間整理手続に付された事件を審理する場合には、第二百八十九条第一項に規定する事件に該当しないときであつても、弁護人がなければ開廷することはできない。

      When a case has been placed into a pretrial arrangement proceeding or an inter-trial arrangement proceeding, the court may not be convened without the presence of the defense counsel even if it is not the case prescribed in Article 289, paragraph (1).
